Natural History Museum // First Fridays by KCRW

Hello! I'm happy to say, my album is ready for MASTERING! All the mixing is done and all we are waiting on is mastering and album artwork. I can't wait to release this album so I can get to working on new stuff! And I've got a few collaborators I'm excited to work with as well.

Last Friday (the 6th of February), Robbie headlined First Friday's at the Natural History Museum and it was SO fun! I hopped on stage for a few songs ("Happy" and "Long Way Down").
Robbie is heading out to tour in March and releasing a new album soon so stay posted with him! Check out some pictures and a short Instagram VIDEO.

Cheers!

"North Winds"

Friends!! I've been working away on multiple little projects here and there, and I FINISH recording my solo album THIS THURSDAY! Woo!

In between Branches and my solo work, I also was so honored to sing and collaborate with my great friend (and bandmate) Jacob Montague once again for his newest album "North Winds".  I am consistently amazed by the new sound Jacob creates. He continues to re-invent himself whilst still staying true to his musical identity.

Relevant Magazine also did a sweet pre-stream and write up  - H E R E  -  so check it out!

While you are buying "North Winds"  - H E R E - please stock up on all of Jacob's albums - H E R E - you will not be sorry one bit. Everything is also available on Itunes as well.

Now go buy all of Jacbo's music!

New "BRANCHES" Covers Album + "Ring of Fire"

Friends!

It is summertime and it is HOT! Too hot, but I have plenty of episodes of Sherlock to keep me indoors and entertained.

About a month or so ago, BRANCHES released our second "Covers" album (with artwork by our very own Mitchell Dong) through one of our licensing companies, Position Music. Great lads and ladies over there, and we love the way these recordings turned out! A favorite of ours is our "Somebody to Love" cover (The Jeffereson Airplane one, not the Beiber one, though we've unashamedly covered that one as well). With the help of our friends at The Fortress Studio in Los Angeles, and Andy Freeman (Eisley, Manchester Orchestra), we cranked these tunes out, as well as our single "Darlin'" which is mentioned in previous news posts.

We hope you enjoy this as much as we did making it! Get it  [ H E R E ] or listen on Spotify - [ H E R E ]

While you are at it, check out our full discography at our Bandcamp [ H E R E] and snatch up our other Covers album, or any one of our albums that you don't have yet! Check it all out on Itunes, Bandcamp (linked above), or Spotify.

Lastly, if you don't keep up with our YouTube video yet, you should! I am not as good as I should be about posting our new cover videos (like our Beiber "Somebody to Love", but subscribe to us and keep updated far more than I can provide! Check out our YouTube page [ H E R E ]

While I am here though, I will leave you with our newest cover while I remember. It is with our BFF's The Show Ponies and you better check them out or you are missing out on so much joy and life!

Love and Warmth (or a cool breeze, if it's as hot for you as it is here)

Spring Has Sprung!

Hello Friends!!
So many exciting things have been happening! This year is off to a great start.

_________________________________________________________

SOLO NEWS:

I've been hard at work finishing my album! About 70% of the tracking is done, all that is left to add is some trinkets, violin, and some final vocals. I've been sitting on some of these songs for four years so I am BEYOND ready to get these out and start making even more music.

Here's a few snapshots from recording:

BRANCHES also got an awesome opportunity to play at the gorgeous Great American Music Hall with Mr. Kind and The Family Crest! What an amazing night singing with you all! We hope to be back soon - x

THE EL REY + OBSERVATORY!

We performed at The Observatory in Santa Ana, and the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. What a surreal couple of nights! I am proud to call Robbie my friend, and am so proud to see the passion and tireless work he puts into his incredible tunes. Congratulations on your success!

All Creatures Vol. One

Friends!

One of my best friends has released his project he has been putting tons of love and energy into for the past year (give or take a few months)

This is an incredible collection of songs that explore the depth of human spirituality and emotion and you NEED to have these in your musical library.

I was privileged to be a part of this and sing on a few songs, and I am very proud to say I am a part of Jacob's newest musical endeavor.

Kyle Neal

Friends!

I had the privilege of lending some vocals to this sweet little tune by Kyle Neal (now known as Boroughs). What talented friends I have! Kyle and I have been singing together for years whenever we get the chance. Was great fun! And am also honored to say Kiel (another Kiel...ha), the drummer in this video, will be providing me with some percussion and drums on my album in a couple weeks!

Below is the video we filmed just last week! Enjoy!

Fall 2013 Updates!

Hello!

Long time not writing - so sorry! Have been busy touring, working on my solo album, and working with others!

Solo News:

Though I don't have any previews of my album just yet, it's going to be about 13 tracks that have been in the making for over 4 years! I'm thankful for my experiences in bands as well - all of this had poured into me and I am hoping to put out something that all of you will enjoy!

SO, while I'm working on that with my good friend Mark Montgomery, I've also been keeping busy touring all over the United States with Branches, and have some dates in October and November coming up as well - so check the SHOWS tab.

Cigarette Barbies:

I also had the privilege to record with my great friend Shawn again, for Cigarette Barbies. I am part of "Angst in My Pants" and "Oh So Soon"!

Robert Delong:

Robbie just released a new original song with myself featured on it! It's called "Open Yr I's" and we recorded some vocals for this a while back at his place. Take a listen below!

Branches:

It's so hard to keep track of all we do! Goodness, we are all over the place.
We recently released a few new videos I'd like to share with you below! The first one is from our time at SXSW and the other is from our most recent trip to New York. Both original songs. Enjoy and share!

Finally, a big thank you to all who came out to our "Branches: Living Room Tour"- Thank you for your continued support!

Also, check out my girl Marissa Quinn's website on my FRIENDS tab - she will be doing my solo album artwork for me and I am beyond excited to see what creative things she comes up with.

Love and Peace

"Perfect" - Robert DeLong

It has been a long time coming for this album to be released, but the record is finally here -
one of my great friends and an incredibly talented artist Robert DeLong's album is here!

This was also a project I had the HUGE privilege to be a part of. I was lucky enough to sing on one of my favorite Robbie songs, "Perfect" (Track 11) - I met Robbie in 2008 and ever since then we've played a myriad of shows together and had so many great times hanging out. I've watched his success grow and grow steadily over the years, and when the news came he was signed to Glassnote Records, it was only a matter of time before he blew up (and he is now!) He performed on "Late Night with David Letterman" February 13th and will be playing a myriad of large festivals including Coachella - so be sure to keep watching!

You can stream the entire album on Billboard.com for free HERE, and get it on Itunes HERE

Enjoy and safe travels

Tiny Hands (Au Revoir) - Silent Planet

This past January, I had the pleasure of being a guest vocalist on one of Silent Planet's new songs.
The song is based on a story from a French woman, Madame Marguerite Rouffance, who survived the Holocaust.  She, a long with a lot of her village, were thrown in the church and the Nazi's sent it up in flames. She survived, and said this in later war trials:

"Je suis sorti vivant du four crematoire, je suis le temoin sacre de l'eglise. Je sui une mere qui a tout perdu."

Translation:
"I came out alive from the crematory oven; I am the sacred witness from the church. I am a mother who has lost everything."

This is the piece I was asked to sing of the song acting as Madame Marguerite Rouffance. It's pretty powerful stuff - and you can check it out below - so rad! Thanks Silent Planet!
